Iconic Dayak Lady Visits Kuching Skills College’s Booth

Kuching Skills College was so fortunate to welcome one of the most iconic ladies in Malaysia, YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Empiang Jabu, to our booth during Sarawak Level’s Women’s Day celebration at BCCK today.
YBhg. Tan Sri Dato Sri Empiang Jabu was the longest-serving Chairman of Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS). She was also the first Dayak Iban woman to receive a degree in the field of education. She’s the wife of the former Sarawak’s Deputy Chief Minister, YBhg. Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr.) Alfred Jabu ak Numpang. She also served as Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu’s (PBB) Women Chief from 2008 until 2018.
YBhg. Tan Sri Dato Sri has worn many hats & those mentioned here are brief and selective: as Senator to represent Sarawak for two terms between 2008 to 2010; founding Board Members of Dayak Cultural Foundation (DCF) that was formed in 1992; and a Board Member of Sarawak Foundation, Chairman of Sarawak’s Mental Health Association, Member of Sarawak General Hospital Visitors’ Board & Director of Sarawak’s Heart Foundation.
